Luna Lynn Day is a multidisciplinary artist most known for her Burlesque work as The Tap Dancing Tease.
Early Life and Education
Luna began as a competitive dancer in her youth earning such titles as Junior Miss Dance of Virginia & Teen Miss Dance of Virginia. She was 4th runner up Teen Miss Dance of America at the prestigious Dance Masters of America Title Competition. Additionally, in her final year of high school, she was named The Distinguished Young Woman of Virginia.
At just 16 years old, Luna graduated high school early and moved to Philadelphia to attend The University of the Arts under a Presidential Scholarship. Recognized for her excellence in tap and tap choreography, she was awarded The LaVaughn Robinson Tap Award. She graduated a semester early, summa cum laude, with a B.F.A. in Dance.
Professional Start
Following college, Luna moved to New York City to dance for RWS Entertainment Group. She joined the inaugural cast of a new line of shows aboard Holland America Cruise Line, performing as a dancer and aerialist while sailing the Mediterranean and Baltic Seas on the Eurodam.
Teaching & Yoga
After her time at sea, Luna began teaching dance and acrobatics full-time in New York City. She taught at various schools, studios, and children’s programs across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. She started acro programs at multiple dance schools while simultaneously completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training and becoming a devout yogi. In 2019, Luna relocated in the Pacific Northwest and continued to teach dance.
Return to the Stage
In 2021, Luna began taking dance classes again as a student and her love for performance was reignited. In 2022, Luna resumed performing and began her burlesque career.
In 2023 Luna moved to Miami to join Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of The Seas Cast. When she returned later that year, she founded her production company, Luna Day Cabaret, and presented her first show “The Naughty List.” She quickly followed it up with “Girl Crush,” a sold out Valentine's-themed burlesque revue. Later that summer, Luna debuted “The Roaring 2020s” two different Jazz Age variety shows featuring dance, burlesque, aerial & live music.
Luna has taken her Burlesque acts around the country performing at The Pacific Northwest Burlesque Festival, Hollywood Burlesque Festival, Ohio Burlesque Festival & New York City Burlesque Festival. She is a featured regular at Sinferno Cabaret, the longest running Burlesque show on the West Coast, and is currently an inaugural cast member at Can Can Portland’s newly renovated Paris Theatre performing 5 shows a week.
